Energy Food Alternatives

Do you find yourself tiring out during the most important parts of your day? Do you feel like you need a boost? Instead of reaching for the caffeinated energy drink or the pillar of energy known as coffee, try one of the three suggestions that will benefit your body rather than harm it.

 

Cereal

If you find yourself constantly hungry and needing to munch on something throughout the day, fill a sandwich bag with dry cereal. Only choose cereals that are very low in sugar (usually the health food cereals or bran) and high in fiber (especially bran) because it will give your body a feeling of being “full.” The carbohydrates will also give you enough energy to survive the day.

 

Fruit

Fruit is the natural energy food. It’s loaded with nutrients and vitamins that help keep you sharp and focused. The raw sugars that are packed into fruit will help your mind work faster and your stomach feel satisfied. Think of it as a safer, healthier caffeine buzz. Fruit is also easy to carry with you to a job or in the car.

 

Yogurt

Yogurt is widely available in many different flavors. It contains many live cultures that have many benefits for your body. The fruit flavored yogurts especially, are packed with the raw sugars that you need for an energy boost. Try to avoid yogurts that come with things like crushed Oreos or granola as it adds a lot of fat to an almost perfect food.
